About me

I am currently a freelance journalist that works with writing, sound and other types of media. I have also worked for several different publications with a focus on everything from literature to Beijing night life. I love traveling, telling stories and eating mantou buns.

I wrote for the lifestyle magazine City Weekend both the Parents and Kids magazine and the Entertainment Guide. Responsibilities include pitching article ideas, conducting interviews, writing blog posts, writing features and proof-reading articles. Read my articles here.

September 2015-January 2016

As an intern I edited event submissions, pitched article ideas and even wrote one of the cover features. I conducted interviews, contributed to story planning meetings and planned the layout of my features for the print magazine. Temporary TV presenter, Blue Ocean Network

December 2015-January 2016

I work part-time as a presenter for the arts and culture program “China Arts”, part of the Blue Ocean Network’s online television series. I also copy-edit and polish scripts for the teleprompter and do research for potential stories. Blue Ocean Network is an English-language Television Network that offers fresh China-focused news and features. See more here.

Poetry Reader, The Adroit Journal

September 2012-January 2015

Adroit Journal is a literary magazine run by high school and college students. Here I was responsible for choosing poetry that was submitted to the site.
